Care instructions
For our Sheepskin pads:
Washing: Machine wash in cold water on the gentle cycle with Leather Therapy’s Leather Wash and Conditioning Rinse. The use of regular detergent will cause the hide to deteriorate. Normal detergent is alkaline based, whereas Leather Therapy is water based, and specific for use on leather.
Dry flat in the shade. Do not dry in full sunlight or expose to a direct heat source. The leather hide of your pad may constrict slightly while drying. If this occurs, simply stretch the item while still damp.
Once the pad is dry, brush it out with a wire brush, stiff body brush or mane and tail brush. This restores the loft and benefits of the sheepskin.
Every Day Care: Let your item dry and brush it out with a wire brush, stiff body brush or mane and tail brush.
Spot Cleaning: Use a waterless horse shampoo to spot clean the item if needed.
For our Wool line:
Washing: Machine wash in cold water on the gentle cycle in a front load washing machine only. Alternately, you may hand-wash in cold water.
Use only detergent approved for wool.
Dry in the shade, away from direct heat sources; do not put into the dryer!
