Joie is one of the leading competitors on the national show jumping circuit. A brief overview of a few of her victories supports this statement. As a junior competitor, she won the United States Equestrian Team (USET) Medal Finals, the Rhulen Rookie of the Year, as well as several other national championships. As a professional, Joie has ridden several hunters to Horse of the Year Awards, won numerous classes at the Grand Prix level, represented the United States in World Cup competitions, and competed in the Olympic Trials. As a member of the West Coast Active Riders European Tour, Joie won several European Grand Prix events. She also received the Leading Lady Rider Award at Royan in France.
In addition to her competitive consistency, Joie has a solid base in equitation, which transfers successfully into the jumper ring. Her style has not gone unnoticed. In 2008 and 2009, Joie was the recipient of both The Style of Riding Award, presented by Karen Healey Bauer and Fred Bauer at the Del Mar National Horse Show and the Jimmy Kohn Style of Riding Award at the HITS Desert Circuit.
Like other talented professionals, Joie enjoys competing at the Grand Prix level. She has a reputation for improving experienced horses as well as successfully developing young, talented jumpers into Grand Prix show jumpers. Her continued success is a direct result of combining her love for the sport and the horse with natural talent, focus and determination. She is a well-respected role-model for professionals, juniors and amateurs. Joie also loves teaching and traveling.
Outside of the horse world, Joie holds a Screen Actors' Guild card and has worked with her father Jerry, a stunt coordinator, on films such as ¡Three Amigos!
